The 2025 World Blind Tasting Championship has just concluded, with Denmark securing an impressive ninth place among the 40 participating nations. The Danish team, The Muscadets—comprising Ali Amidi, Jannick Wang and Domen Presern—represented the red-and-white colors.
Earlier this year, they won the Danish national blind tasting championship in Copenhagen. The competition has been organized annually since 2013 by the French wine magazine La Revue du Vin de France. This year’s event took place at Fort des Rousses in the Jura region, where the 40 teams were gradually narrowed down to four finalists. In the final, contestants were asked to identify 12 wines—six white and six red—over the course of three hours. Teams had to determine each wine’s country of origin, grape variety or varieties, appellation, vintage, and producer. Host nation France took first place this year, after finishing a modest 28th last year. China came in second, followed by Australia and Macao in third and fourth place respectively.
A particularly notable performance came from Macao, which was competing in the championship for the first time.
